South Pacific golf holidays are limited to Fiji where the recent development of two new USPGA Championship Golf Courses is appealing to a new holiday market. With glorious weather and reasonable green fees, Fiji is about to experience a boom in golf holidays The main golf course for many years was the rather ordinary and flat course on Denarau Island just outside Nadi. Denarau Island has six large resorts including Sheraton, Sofitel, Hilton and the Golf Terraces overlooking the course. However, golf in Fiji has taken on a new dimension with the development of two new and exciting golf resorts just south of Nadi along the dry sunny coast. The Peter Thomson designed 18-hole Momi Golf course is the finest of these with lovely sea views, deep bunkers, rolling greens and fantastic golf villas overlooking the USPGA standard course. Slightly further south is the Natadola Golf Resort designed by Vijay Singh which has long fairways. At Pacific Harbour, about 2 hours drive from Nadi Airport and set amongst the tropical rainforest with lovely mountain views is another championship golf course, the Pearl Golf Resort. Other public golf courses can be found in Nadi and Suva. Overall, Fiji has becomae an excellent golf destination challenging Hawaii as an alternative and more stress free golf environment. Samoa has two good 18-hole championship golf courses around Apia and most Apia hotels can arrange discounted green fees and transport. Tahiti has a championship golf course on the south-west coast of Tahiti, but no resort nearby. Cook Islands has a small 9-hole course on Rarotonga open to the public as well as a flat 9-hole course on Aitutaki. Tonga, you can play 9 holes at the Tonga Golf Club, a few miles outside of Nukualofa Town on Tongatapu. Our Recommended South Pacific Golf Resorts:
